The Red Devils are about to attack…
The lack of goals has been a true killer for United throughout this campaign, and the addition of Amorim agenda’s attacks is high. It appears that Matheus Cunha could become United’s first summer signing as it is allegedly being finalised and therefore United is offering a five-year contract to Cunha before it triggers a £62.5 million release clause.
In addition to seeing Cunha’s signature, it has been reported that Red Devils has also made contact with Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. The forward is considered United’s highest target, and could cost up to £40 million to trade across the French border.
Man Utd hosts talks to sign Ademola Lookman
The list of offensive options doesn’t stop there for the Premier League Giants. According to offside, Man United is currently planning to discuss with Ademora Lookman about a deal to take him to Old Trafford.
The report says United are one of the Premier League teams looking to sign Lookman this summer as they are expected to leave Atalanta. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United are also considering discussions with the UK about potential moves into the Premier League.
However, as Barcelona has already contacted the player’s agents about possible moves to Spain, it’s not just the English team chasing the former Everton man, but their ongoing financial issues means it may be difficult for them to close the deal.
Juventus has also expressed interest in Lookman, who is in the 99th percentile for goals this season compared to his “Big Five” league position peers, but the asking price of 60-65 million euros, which is around £50-55 million, is said to be too much for the Serie A side.
The 27-year-old, dubbed “world class” by BBC’s John Bennett, has scored 13 goals and five assists in 28 Serie A games this season.
Nigeria International has also continued Atalanta’s excellent form since joining the club in August 2022, scoring five goals in seven Champions League matches. Although Lookman has a contract until 1027, his time with the Italian club is coming to an end, as he is given previous comments from the Atalanta boss.
