Manchester United preparing for trip to AnfieldManchester United aim to beat Real Madrid with Adam Wharton acquisition

Manchester United are in the market for new talent and could aim to beat Real Madrid to a deal that could revolutionize the team’s engine room under manager Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United preparing for trip to Anfield

There is a renewed sense of optimism at Old Trafford after the win over Sunderland before the international break showed a degree of ability that hasn’t necessarily been present this season.

Nevertheless, Manchester United travel to Anfield on Sunday as the Premier League resumes, but it will be a tough test of character for a group that needs to start picking up points.

Taking a closer look at Amorim’s squad, it is clear that midfield is one area that could improve once the January transfer window opens. However, BBC reporter Simon Stone does not think Red Devils target Carlos Baleva will arrive at Old Trafford in January.

“No, that’s not the case. (I believe Baleva will join Manchester United in January). Why would Brighton sell midway through the season? It really makes no sense and unless someone leaves, who will be left behind to accommodate them?”

“I think Casemiro did well. It’s more important how effective Bruno Fernandes is. I can’t imagine a world where Fernandes is left out, and there are already too many No. 10s.”

Sekou Kone continues to perform well at Carrington and could be an option, but there is still room for another man to strengthen the Red Devils centrally as they look for a way back into one of English football’s elite teams.

Now they could be competing with Real Madrid for the midfielder, whose performances have made him one of the most sought-after players in Europe.

Manchester United aim to beat Real Madrid with Adam Wharton acquisition

Manchester United are aiming to beat Real Madrid to sign Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and could offer £60 million for the England international, according to reports in Spain.

With Koby Mainu and Casemiro’s futures at the club uncertain, the Red Devils are prepared to act quickly to thwart the La Liga giants, who see the former Blackburn Rovers man as the ideal replacement for Toni Kroos.

Wharton, who is able to break up plays and structure games in the same way, made 10 appearances in all competitions this term, registering the only assist, and helped Crystal Palace’s early charge into European football.

Oliver Glassner won’t want to lose his prize money asset, which was hailed as “incredible” by Eberechi Eze. But Manchester United are ready to make a move before other clubs fall into the trap of signing the Three Lions star.

Signing Wharton may be easier said than done, but Amorim hopes bringing new blood into the squad will reignite the Red Devils’ fortunes.
