Manchester United has reached an agreement with Brentford on a proposal to transfer Brian Mbemo, according to multiple sources. The 20-time English champion will pay a total of up to £71 million for services including the 25-year-old forward, add-on.
It’s been weeks since Mbeumo accepted United’s proposal for a five-year contract. The Red Devils have the option to extend it even further until 2018. Mbeumo already informs other future suitors that he is only interested in joining United.
Mbeumo joined Brentford from Troyes in 2019. In the six years since that ended, he made a total of 242 appearances for the bees in all competitions, scoring 70 goals and contributing with 51 assists. With plenty of pace, power, finishing ability and Premier League experience, he is widely expected to add a significant addition to Old Trafford’s Ruben Amorim’s Squad along with Matheus Cunha as he aims to improve his disastrous 15th place finish in 2024/25.
