Marcus Rashford clashed with Manchester United’s “reactionary” approach after leaving Old Trafford.
The forward, who loaned it out to Barcelona for the 2025-26 season, criticized the lack of consistent strategy on the rest of the football podcast, urging the Red Devils to “plan and stick.”
Rashford, who had lost his favor under Reuben Amorim, spent half of last season renting out at Aston Villa, where he recorded 17 appearances in all competitions.
England International scored 89 times for United in the Premier League and registered 42 assists.
Discussing his parent club, Rashford said: “We see it with teams that have been successful over a period of time, and they have the principle that the coming coaches, the coming players must be able to fit in or add to these principles.
“We are upset about winning, so we always try to adapt and sign players who fit this system, but it is reactionary.
“I don’t think you can win a league if your direction is constantly changing. Yes, you might win some Cup tournaments, but that’s because you have a good coach, you have a good player and you have a match winner on your team – you’re not a coincidence.
Rashford explained that he has returned in the past six months to give him a clearer perspective on the club’s issues.
He said: “We’re way below the place we consider united. But if you take a step back… what do you expect? People say we’ve been transitioning for years. To start the transition, it seems like the actual transition hasn’t started yet.
“To start the transition, you have to plan and stick to it. So, this is what I feel – it’s not easy. If that doesn’t work, the fans are talking about being realistic about what your situation is.
“I feel that there are many different managers, different ideas, different strategies to win.
Manchester United began their new Premier League season at their Arsenal home on Sunday, allowing Rashford to make his Lariga debut when Barcelona faced Mallorca a day ago.
