Manx Grand Prix organizers confirmed that Garry Broughton remains in “serious” state after crashing during practice earlier this week.

On Tuesday evening, the Manx Grand Prix ran red flag after an incident was reported on the course at Joeys during a lightweight/supertwin session.

Organizers later confirmed that Garry Broughton was the rider involved and was taken to Noble Hospital via AirMed.

On Wednesday, his condition was described as “severe” and was moved to Aintree in an update issued by the Manx Grand Prix on Thursday evening.

“At the time of the issue, Garry’s condition has been reported to be serious and he is still being monitored and treated for his injuries,” read a brief statement.

The nature of his injury has not been revealed.

The Broughton crash followed the incident of Andy McAllister, who suffered an arm injury off the off-line on Monday evening.

However, organizers confirmed he had been discharged from the hospital.

The third rider, James Walsh, was also hospitalized this week after crashing during Manx Grand Prix practice.

The newcomer took his Aprilia Supertwin with Crookshanks and Crookshanks on Sunday and was taken to hospital for treatment for a hip injury.

He posted on Facebook earlier this week and found his team “disappointing” to have to miss the rest of the event.

Action will continue tonight (August 21) with roads closing at 6pm local time.

The Senior/Super Sport and Junior/Super Manx Grand Prix bikes are well underway, not just for the Classic TT Formula 1, Lightweight Classic, Historic Senior and Historic Junior machines.
