Mark Marquez reportedly encourages Ducati to sign outstanding Moto2 talent.
According to Sky Italia, Marquez has a “great friendship” with Diogo Moreira and wants to promote her promotion to MotoGP.
However, Moreira’s services already have queues and Ducati is not in front of them.
“Honda is betting everything on Diogo Molira,” the report said.
Honda wants to give him a three-year deal worth 1.5 million euros per season. It has already been reported.
The agreement would place Moreira in the LCR project two more years ago with Honda’s factory team.
Diogo Moreira has been nominated by MotoGP manufacturers

“Honda has taken a very big step in the direction,” followed by SkyItalia, signing Moreira.
However, Moreira also has “open negotiations” with Yamaha, which already offers him a training bike – and claims to be Truckhouse Aprilia.
Honda was the one leading the way into the Moto2 rider fight, but Marquez’s involvement could change things.
“The Ducati paradox will be a game-changer.”
“Words have a very large and certain weight in Ducati,” the report continues.
“Marquez is pushing to open up immediate space for Ducati’s Moreira.”
The current vacant Ducati in the 2026 MotoGP rider lineup is in the VR46 and currently belongs to Franco Morbidelli.
However, VR46 claims they will maintain Morbidelli, despite being linked to Pedro Acosta.
Where Ducati might find space – and whether they have decided to do so – is still not seen.
Moreira is set to determine his future during the summer holidays, but MotoGP promotion seems highly likely.
Honda missed Jorge Martin, who is staying at Aprilia, but it appears that Acosta will likely stay at KTM too.
They reportedly intend to keep Luca Marini, and they have already signed Joan Mir and Johann Zarco. The seat of Somkiat Chantra, who is at the end of the MotoGP rankings, is debatable.
