After a spectacular upset against Leandro Higo in the quarterfinal round, Marcirley Alves gave another show-stealing performance against Jake Hadley in the PFL World Tournament Bantamweight semi-finals.
Both fighters spit it out in a rather uniform opening round, but it was Alves’s job on the body that seemed to make all the difference. Throughout the first five minutes, Alves properly punishes Hadley’s midsection, sending Britt to his corner, embracing plenty of redness around his ribs.
Avles continued his second blow, crushing Hadley’s nose and causing serious damage to Hadley’s torso. In just under three minutes, Alves recorded Hadley to the right, causing his opponent to crash onto the canvas. Alves dripped down the left side of his face as Hadley pushed his leg in blood.
Hadley appears to have no answer as Alves kept pulling him apart, locking his second straight round on the scorecard.
Hadley can’t adjust in the third, spends rounds around the smart cage looking for counter strikes, but it’s shortened. Ultimately, Hadley managed to land a total of 18 strikes at 187 for Alves.
Official Results: Marcirley Alves def. Jake Hadley (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) via unanimous decision.
The victory will see Alves face Justin Wetzel in the bantamweight tournament final at the 2025 PFL World Championships in August.
