Marco Betzekki has posted a public apology for “mistakes” of “involving” the newly crowned world champion aftermath of the scary Indonesian Motogup collision.
Sprint winner Betzecchi made his poor start from pole position before entangled with Marquez and entangled with a right-hander on the opening lap for a fast turn 7.
Italian Aprilia was never completely lined up, so when he tried to retreat, it was too late.
Betzecchi’s front wheel cuts out the back of Marquez, throws the Spaniard into the ground before being launched into a series of heavy rolls with gravel traps.
Marquez quickly nurses his right arm and has “evidence” of possible clavicle fractures and/or ligament damage.
“I apologize to him and all his staff.”
He was not seriously injured after skipping media duties to get his own hospital scan.
“I made a mistake today, but unfortunately Mark was involved too. I’m sorry. I’ll apologise to him and all of his staff. It’s time to sort out the pain and pain. I’ll see you soon. Sorry.”
Marquez’s own social media post included a plea for fans to not struggle with Betzecchi because “intentionally no one does.”
Although the fimsteward has postponed the hearing with Betzekki due to a hospital check, he is almost certain to face a penalty for the upcoming Australian Grand Prix.
Betzekki was an innocent victim in Japan a week ago, with teammate Jorge Martin clashing with him in turn 1.
Martin remains on the sidelines with his broken collarbone from the collision, and also has a postponed steward hearing.
