Laker Nation should thank Luka Donsic for recruiting Smart this summer. After all, Smart is undoubtedly one of the best defensive guards in the league.
Smart is still a great player, but he kept his glow during his nine-year tenure with the Celtics.
During that stint, Smart averaged 10.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game in C. He also helped the team reach the 2022 NBA Finals despite losing to the Golden State Warriors.
Fast forward to 2025 Smart is a member of the Lakers and will be interesting to see if he can leave a better legacy in LA than he did in Boston.
