LeBron James is entering his 23rd season in the NBA as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Even at age 40, LeBron James is still considered one of the best players in the league.
James averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds in 70 games with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2024-25. He was selected to play in the 21st NBA All-Star Game.
James was also named to the All-NBA Second Team for the fourth time in his career.
James’ former teammate Mario Chalmers revealed his top five players in the NBA, but James was not included.
He originally put James in his top five, but then he took him out in favor of Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgauss-Alexander.
Chalmers also included Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum.
“We got Steph Curry in the top five today, we got Bron in there.
“I put Giannis in there, Jayson Tatum.
“Actually, I’m going to take out Bron and put Joker and SGA.
“But Bron’s been there for six years.”
James turns 41 in December, and he shows no signs of slowing down.
There was a lot of speculation about when James would retire. LeBron teased it with a “Second Decision” announcement that was only for the release of a Hennessy ad.
Beyond this season, James is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer. James can continue to play and join other teams if he wants to.
This type of longevity from James is something the NBA has never seen before and probably will never happen again.
