Mark Cuban came to the defense of Steve Ballmer and La Clippers over the Cawy Leonard controversy, and received an interesting response.
In integrity, after a rather lukewarm NBA offseason, one story quickly brought the world’s eyes back to the Adam Silver league.
Yesterday, Pablo Torre revealed a La Clippers investigation. There, Kawi Leonard claimed he had won $28 million from the shell company Suction as part of the approval agreement.
The approval agreement is said to have been created by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
But Mark Cuban, former Dallas Maverick majority owner, believes Clipper, Ballmer and even Leonard are misrepresented here.
Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks minority, took him to X to defend Steve Ballmer and La Clippers against these recent allegations.
He pointed out that financial records were not publicly inadvertent enough to go bankrupt on the fake company Ballmer used to pay Leonard. Cuban added that his desire is to condemn the team and its clients for fraud.
“I’m on Team Ballmer. They want to get around the salary cap. First of all, Steve isn’t that stupid.
“If he personally finds out what is at stake for him and his team and tries to feed him, do you think he’ll make the company go bankrupt?
“Do you know that all creditors look like the world? They were scammersed by hugs along with many others. The crime they pleaded guilty last week.
“The scammers do fraudulent things. They signed a $300 million sponsorship agreement with the Clippers in 2021. That’s a big deal. The more teams do it, the more value the sponsorship will be.
“In fact, if they steal money from investors and the Clippers want to succeed, why not give them stolen money to keep their best players?
In the same post on X, Mark Cuban called out Pablo Torre for an investigation, saying that targeting Ballmer is not a good idea.
“It’s sad that Pablo Torre didn’t take the time to find out how these scammers pulled away the scam. The idea that the default is Ballmer is what the bad guys are going to backfire him.”
In response, Pablo Torre invited Mark Cuban to the show to discuss the issue further. Interestingly, Cuba seemed to have accepted the invitation.
“Dear Mark Cuban, come to (my show) to discuss my report. I’d like to ask you! Thank you, Pablo.”
Perhaps we’ll have a detailed discussion of this issue in the next episode of the Pablo Torre show to see what benefits Cuba has to say.
In the meantime, fans of The Big Apple are hoping that the issue will remain isolated in Los Angeles as Torre suggests a potential investigation of the New York Knicks and Jalen Brunson.
