Mark Cuban appears to have suggested that people are among the Dallas Mavericks, who pushed Luka Donsic’s trade against his wishes.
Even seven months later, it’s hard to believe Dallas Maverick traded Luka Donsic for the Los Angeles Lakers.
In the most shocking trade in NBA history, Don Sic has joined the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis joining the Mavericks.
Since then, despite the initial fate and darkness surrounding the problem, Maverick has bounced back. With a massive fortune stroke, the Mavericks landed the No. 1 overall pick, the Cooper Flag.
However, Luka Donsic’s ghosts still haunt the franchise. And there were people within the organization that ignored his views when adjusting trade, according to Mark Cuban.
Mark Cuba recently participated in a live edition of All in Podcast. When discussing Luka Doncic’s trade, Mark Cuban revealed how he lost power in a basketball decision after sale.
And as this power fell, Cuba sat down while the Mavericks went well. And he appears to suggest that the person who traded Luka Donsic doesn’t want Cuban, and he gets his wish.
“When I made the deal, it was estimated I was still running basketball. We tried to put it on a contract, but the NBA said the governor is the governor and they’ll make all the final decisions.
“I got involved and then we went on this run, and we made it to the finals, and instead of trying to sabotage ourselves all the time, I was like, ‘I don’t want to get in the way, we’re rolling.’
“It was a mistake. There were a few things that happened inside that the person who traded Luka (Don Chic) didn’t want me there. They won, I lost.”
Soon the internet went into full speculation mode, trying to figure out who Cuban was referring to within the Mavericks organization.
The immediate speculation was Nico Harrison of Dallas Mavericks GM, who pushed trade forward. However, Cuba has since defended Harrison’s decision, suggesting that it may not be him.
Is Cuban talking instead about Patrick Dumont, governor of the Dallas Mavericks? Dumont is the son-in-law of Miriam Adelson, the new owner of the Dallas Mavericks.
Cuba is not permitted to control due to his position as governor of Dumont, so it may be he who was referring to the former Mavericks owner.
