The Oklahoma City Thunder will seek to defend their NBA championship in the 2025-26 NBA season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder continued their exciting postseason run, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets, and Minnesota Timberwolves to advance to the 2025 NBA Finals.
In the 2025 NBA Finals, the Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers in an epic seven-game series.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Oklahoma City to its first championship in club history.
The Thunder have young talent and have proven they can win in the group.
They have a solid core of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren.
Oklahoma City also has young players like Ousmane Dieng working towards a bigger role on the team.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault talked about Dieng and was impressed with his size.
“He was fine, he’s got really good size.
“He is still one of our youngest players because he was young when he joined.
“He has made great strides in his body and his game. He is now much more confident than ever.”
Dieng was selected 11th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks and then traded to the Thunder.
Dieng hasn’t seen much playing time, but his continued development could lead to more opportunities this season.
Dieng played in 109 games, averaging 4.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game.
During the Thunder’s championship season, he appeared in 37 games, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game.
