Mark Carr’s career will not be forgotten anytime soon.
During the UFC 316 broadcast on Saturday, it was announced at a ceremony held in Las Vegas on June 28th that Kerr, 56, will be set to be introduced to the UFC Hall of Fame Pioneer Wing. The winners of the two UFC heavyweight tournament will be attending the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and can be seen below.

Kerr was an early star in the UFC and won the heavyweight tournament in 1997 with promotions at UFC 14 and UFC 15. Unfortunately for Kerr, he was unable to maintain his success in 2000 as the defeat of Fujita Kazuyamagawa, marking the beginning of his downfall.
After that defeat, Kerr won only three of his last 13 fights before retiring in 2009 with a 15-11 (1 NC) record.
Kerr also played a major role in helping the now-famous Abu Dhabi Combat Club race to get off the ground. The Division I champion wrestler won the ADCC tournament in 1999 and 2000, and was then part of the organization’s first Hall of Fame class in 2022.
He joins the 2025 inductive Vitor Belfort (Pioneer Wing), Amanda Nunes and Robbie Lawler (Modern Wing) as Kerr stepped onto the stage at the UFC Hall of Fame T-Mobile Arena.
Other Pioneer Wing members include Royce Gracie, Kenshamrock, Randy Couture, Chuck Riddell and Anderson Silva.
