Marc Marquez’s “tactical genius” is plagued after taking command of the MotoGP Championship race.
Marquez is currently ahead of his factory Ducati teammate, third-placed Pecco Bagnaia with 93 points (an ominous total).
Gresini’s Alex Marquez is his brother’s closest competition in the title scrap heading to Muguero next weekend.
But Mark Marquez’s ability to shake off two errors earlier this season to control Aragon Motogup last week was a sure sign that he had an iron grip in the championship, which is allegedly argued.
“He talked about it all over the weekend — I think there’s a factor that makes him rattle over these mistakes,” Lewis Duncan told the Clash MotoGP podcast.

“He said, ‘Ducati understands the mistakes,’ but he should not be so sure because he felt good on the bike.
“It was a really mental hurdle to get over, like Jorge Martin of Indonesia last year. He crashed in the sprint and was able to think about it and overcome it.
“It feels like a big hurdle is being overcome here, Aragon is a strong circuit for him, and so did Kota.
“As a factory rider, he’s tight-lipped about what’s changed with the bike. It’s very difficult to tell, and it’s complicated to understand.
“Essentially, they went back to something that gave him the feeling he had at the beginning of the season.
“When he was like that — before the crash in Thailand, Argentina and Austin — he’s heading the two and a half seconds from Pecco.
“If he’s past the hurdle of making a mistake on Sunday, that’s another factor that his rivals can’t use. They can’t put pressure on him because he can’t break.
“We are now in a new phase with the championship, something he probably stretches his legs.
“I don’t think it looks particularly good for people who aren’t Mark Marquez!”
“Unpredictable” Mark Marquez A. “Tactical Genius”

Jordan Moreland added:
“He’ll finally get that.”
Lewis Duncan continued. “Part of the problem is that what he is trying to do is unpredictable.
“Rider says he’s one step ahead on Friday, so I think he’ll lead right in front of me. But we have a sprint and Alex Marquez is in front. We have the opportunity to do something…
“He pushes, he bites the tire and Mark comes anyway…
“Instead of finishing second, (Alex) finishes third.
“That’s Mark’s true tactical genius. He can adapt on the spot.
“It’s difficult to fight, and they know that.
“There’s not much they can do.”
A brief issue with his Ducati GP25’s front-end sense at Silverstone was shaken by Aragon’s Marquez.
He is better suited to this year’s Desmosedici than his teammate Bagnaia, despite his slight revival at Aragon.
Marquez is looking for the ninth world title in total this year. He is the first on the factory Ducati team.
