Marlon “Chito” Vera is set to return to action for more than a year since its last appearance in the UFC.
The former Bantamweight Title Challenger is scheduled to clash with competitor Aiemann Zahabi at the upcoming UFC Vancouver Show scheduled for October 18th from Canada’s Rogers Arena. UFC officials announced the pairing on Thursday.
Vera has not fought since her decision to Deveson Figure Aid in August 2024. He also suffered a decision loss to Sean O’Malley in his attempt to become UFC champion in the same run.
The injury stopped Vera from coming back early when booking a fight at UFC 316 in June, but appears healthy enough to book the next matchup in the UFC.
As for Zahabi, the 37-year-old bantamweight is enjoying his best career with six consecutive wins in the UFC, whilst steadily rising in his rankings. In May, Zajabi traveled to featherweight to face former champion Jose Aldo at UFC 315.
In a battle of exchange, Zahabi almost survived the finish, then nearly cleared up Aldo before winning the unanimous decision. Now, when Zahabi faced Bella in October, he is about to add another respected veteran to his resume.
There are no main events yet for the upcoming UFC Vancouver cards, but several matches have been confirmed on the show, including the former title Challenger Man Non-Fiorot, who will face Jasmine Jas Davisius in the featured female flyweight battle.
