The former Milwaukee backsprayer made an impression on the team’s second round pick after a summer league performance.
The Milwaukee Bucks currently have a 1-2 record and are giving many young people the opportunity.
Jamaree Bouyea has been an impressive team and has attracted the attention of coach Doc Rivers, who can use guard services on the backcourt.
However, the second round pick presents some good performances in the NBA Summer League, but the former Bucks legend still has some questions about him.
Bogoljub Markovic was selected as 47th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft.
He played in all three summer league games for the Bucks, but Johnson feels the rookies may still need to work on some things.
Speaking of the Serbs, Johnson said:
“I see him go up and down, and in reality, the guy is good, man. He’s talented.”

Malkovic went scoreless in his first summer league match against the Denver Nuggets. However, he scored 5 and 14 in the next two games, giving him a glimpse of his talent.
Johnson added:
“But if you have the luxury of not needing him this year, unless you feel he’s contributed in a valuable way, it’s pretty much better and I know I’m saying I’m going to go back and continue to season him.”
The Bucks president recently revealed his stance on the rumors of Giannis Antetokounmpo. Despite his comments, the future of the players is still on the team.
They signed Miles Turner in free agency and shocked the world by abandoning Damian Lillard, but the roster is still too light to compete for the championship.
Bradley Beal has been a player who has been linked to the Bucks for some time, and his time with Phoenix approaching the end, allowing the 2021 champion to try and win him.
Antetokounmpo hopes the franchise will have a good roster around him, and the Bucks do everything in their power to satisfy that hope.
Summer league performances often show no potential. However, Pick Malkovic in the second round of the Bucks has been playing professional basketball for several years and has been able to help them a lot.
If he can translate his game into the NBA along with Bouyea, the Bucks could trouble some teams in the East.
