Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes the club have clearly pulled off a masterstroke with the signing of Spanish central midfielder Martin Zvimendi.
The 26-year-old has slotted into this Arsenal side admirably since moving from Real Sociedad in the summer. Keown was very impressed with his start to life at Emirates Stadium.
Zubimendi seemed like a classy performer in Sociedad, but he is instantly adapting to life in a new club and new country.
Keown claimed that Zubimendi had more calm and impact than any other new signing made by clubs across Europe this season.
Huge praise for Arsenal legend Martin Zvimendi
Arsenal generally discussed in the Talksport piece, with Keown credited for single-out Zubimendi for him coming in and hitting the ground running alongside Mikel Arteta.
“Across Europe, I don’t really see anyone who’s so well integrated that they’ve had that kind of impact,” Keown said.
“The goal he scored (against Nottingham Forest), a header, but he checks everything.
“He came in at the weekend (against West Ham) and when he came in it was seamless.
“(Martin) Odegaard would have been an absolute disaster last season, but not this season.”
Arsenal clearly have a real gem on their hands in the form of Zvimendi and fans will hope he can play a role in helping the team move one step closer to major silverware.
The Gunners are undoubtedly favorites for the title at the moment and are not far from being serious contenders for the Champions League after making the semi-finals last season.
