Are the Mavericks looking at the young Timberwolves star?
It’s easy to forget, given the success of the playoffs over the last few years, but the Minnesota Timberwolves are still a very young team.
With Anthony Edwards as the leader at just 23 years old, they still have a bright young core who feels they can develop into a great team.

Dallas Mavericks assistant GM Matt Ricardi interviewed the team’s YouTube channel. He spoke about the evolving nature of drafts.
He spoke about Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Terrence Shannon.
“We’re now 23 years old. Terrence Shannon came and it didn’t seem like he was in college for 10 years.
“The crazy part about what I heard this morning is Shannon is older than Anthony Edwards, but he’s a rookie.”
“Everyone thinks Ali is in League x Year, and now he’s going to take this rookie under his wing, who’s just got there.”
“Terrence Shannon is older than Anthony Edwards. It’s fascinating. It definitely changes the landscape a bit.”

This current Western Conference final run shows that the Minnesota Timberwolves are not at the level of competition for the championship yet.
Of course, a miraculous comeback from 3-1 proves that statement is wrong, but there are some big holes in their current roster.
If they keep trying to build through drafts, they may not be that successful.
The new ownership is when we consider the real opportunity to make changes to the front office and give them a better chance to compete for titles.
