It was hard for Los Angeles to not expect the worst when they defeated their third baseman Max Mancey with the during a game against the Chicago White Sox earlier this month.
Muncie’s knees bent backwards to make it look like the season was over. General Manager Brandon Gomez even admitted that he thought Muncie was on the way to the season.

“Obviously there were a lot of emotions,” Gomez said. “From the coping mechanism in my head, it was, ‘OK, he did that year. We need to figure out what the next path is. We have to prepare for what comes.”
Instead, Muncie was given a six-week return time frame. Three weeks later, he is already nearing his return.
But because Muncie recently revealed how close he is to a potential end-of-season knee injury that requires surgery.
“If the timing was different in milliseconds anyway,” Muncie said to her doctor, “You were probably watching the surgery and did it for a long time.”
Muncie was in the middle of a hot streak before getting off with an injury, hitting .304 with 12 home runs and an OPS of 1.009 in his final 47 games.
Since Muncy fell on an injury, the have averaged 3.36 runs per game. That’s well below nearly six times per game that was averaged with Muncie in the lineup.
