The Los Angeles took a commanding 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers, but All-Star third baseman Max Muncy says the best is yet to come.
Muncy was asked after Tuesday’s 5-1 win if there was another level for the team to reach and what else they could do to advance to the World Series.

“So offensively, there are still some opportunities that we can take advantage of. We just haven’t quite hit it,” Muncy said.
“It’s really hard to say that the pitching can step up any more than it has before. But we know from our standpoint offensively there are still some moments that we can take advantage of. So, yeah, I think we’re still going to step up a gear.”
The have certainly had great performances from their starting pitchers, especially in the NLCS.

Blake Snell opened the series with one batter, 10 strikeouts, and no walks in eight innings. Yoshinobu Yamamoto won the second game with a complete game of 111 pitches, and his only run was a solo home run on the first pitch.
The have only lost once this postseason and are still showing immense strength at the plate. Los Angeles has the most hits of any remaining postseason team and is tied with the Toronto Blue Jays for the most home runs and RBIs this October.
“At the end of the day, we’re winning games,” Muncy said. “That’s the most important part. No matter how you do it, you can get the W. That’s what we did.”
The main reason the can contribute more offensively is three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani. This postseason, he is hitting just .147, but has six RBIs, the second most on the team.
If Ohtani gets back on track and the rest of the lineup continues to score, Muncy may be able to reach what he believes is the next gear.
