Muncie hit .188 on one home run, with eight runs hit and an OPS of .600. It’s no secret that the All-Stars are struggling, but whether the are planning to find a Muncie alternative remains a mystery.
The 34-year-old discussed ongoing trade rumours linking the to 10 Gold Glove Nolan Arenado.
“It’s not easy, but it’s baseball,” Muncie told athletics Fabian Arda. “It’s business, especially when you’re on a team like this, you’re hoping to win the World Series, and you can probably take that chance if there’s a chance that you can improve.
“But at the same time, it’s where I’ve built a relationship with Doc and Front Office, and they know where I am. If they have the opportunity to improve this team, they can definitely do it.
Muncie hopes to turn the corner as the season progresses.
“They gave me the confidence to have it within me. Unfortunately, I haven’t been fully returned this year yet, but I’m still a very good player and I know I can definitely get back to my standards.
The ‘ front office will not sit unabashedly as trade deadlines approach, but it remains unclear where the team will try to improve. Muncie has become such an integral part of this team on and off the field.
