Max Verstappen believes he knows why Lewis Hamilton didn’t show up in the steward room after the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The FIA announced its intention to investigate the incident between old rivals Verstappen and Hamilton during the race.
Verstappen passed Hamilton in turn 4 in a battle over P11 that caught the steward’s eye.
However, they later chose to give a verdict of “no further action.”
Verstappen existed to hear their views, but Hamilton chose not to appear.
Hamilton was not a driver under investigation. However, Verstappen believes his absence is because he did not view the incident as unfair.
Verstappen explained the incident.
“I think he noticed I was very late inside there, so he went out a little bit and the course was off the track.
“That was it. Yeah, we didn’t touch it, nothing happened.”

He added:
“We explained our side – well, Lewis wasn’t there, but we explained the side of the story.
“I don’t think Lewis actually felt anything, so if he really felt something, of course he’s in the steward room, right?”
Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton both endured the scary F1 Hungarian Rampuri.
The Red Bull driver finished ninth and concluded his round by claiming that it would be an important part of the internal debate to improve the RB21.
The Ferrari driver issued another worrying interview 24 hours after calling himself “useless”, claiming that his team should replace him. Hamilton was inexplicable in his explanation.
Verstappen continued: “We both didn’t have the best of the weekend anyway, so that’s a bit of a thing.
“More importantly, you have to see the performance, but that wasn’t good.”
