Lucknow’s Super Giants (LSG) set off with a pace sensation that was removed from the rest of the IPL 2025 season due to a rear injury. The Lucknow-based franchise, led by Rishabh Pant, snatched the ropes as a Mayank replacement at New Zealand’s Pacer William O’Rourke.
Mayank Yadav was one of three players held by the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. The pacer was removed from the early part of IPL 2025 and only played two games before the tournament was temporarily suspended. He picked up two wickets with an economic rate of 12.50.

On Thursday, May 15th, India’s Premier League issued a press release, confirming William O’Rourke as the replacement of injured Mayankuyadav. Yadav was ruled out for the rest of the season due to a back injury.

According to a release shared by IPL, “Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is roped at Pacer William O’Rourke in New Zealand as an injury to Mayankuyadav.
Mayank Yadav scored four wickets in four overs in his first match against IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankheed Stadium on April 27th. However, he admitted 60 runs in four spells against the Punjab Kings (PBK) at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Kyle Jamieson replaces Rocky Ferguson for the rest of IPL 2025
Punjab King Spacer Rocky Ferguson has been excluded from the rest of IPL 2025 due to hamstring damage. The New Zealand pacer had to leave the field after only delivering two balls in a match against Sunrise Hyderabad (SRH) on April 12th.
Before the injury, Ferguson featured in four games and won five wickets for the franchise. The Punjab Kings are living in the IPL 2025 playoffs with 15 points from the 11 matches played so far.
PBKS has signed Kyle Jamieson as a 2-kroll replacement. It will be Jamieson’s second stint in the IPL after playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2021. Jamieson was also part of the Quetta Gladiators team of the 2025 Pakistan Super League, but was featured in two of the nine innings.
Kusar Mendis joins the Gujarat Titans as a replacement for Jos Butler
Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batter Kusar Mendis has been signed by the Gujarat Titans (GT) who will leave IPL 2025 after the league stage to replace Jos Butler, who will join the West Indies Series on the England Whiteball team.
Buttler will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in his final match against GT in Ahmedabad on May 25th. Mendis is brought in for Rs 750,000 and will be available to Titans if they are eligible for the playoffs.
