Aljamain Sterling believes Merab Dvalishvili’s aerobic exercise is not of this world.
“The Machine” put together an impressive 12-match winning streak within the Octagon, including winning the indisputable Bantamweight World Title, including his dominant unanimous decision victory over Sean O’Malley at UFC 306.
Since then, Dvalishvili notched his first successful defense and defeated Umar Nurmagomedov in January. Now he’s aiming to get two ups with “Sugar” this Saturday night when he ran back with O’Malley at UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey.
With only one finish within the Octagon, Dvalishvili is not known exactly for his ability to perfect his enemies, but that wasn’t a big deal for Georgian, who uses world-class grappling and endless gas tanks to last every man who stepped into his cage.
“Funk Master” was blown away by Merab’s aerob exercise
After spending time with Dvalishvili and showing one or two things to the bantamweight title holder at MAT, former 135 pound king Aljamain Sterling came to one conclusion.
“Personally, he’s not even breathing. He might just be extraterrestrial, like what happens to a normal person, but he’s just different,” Sterling said in a recent episode of UFC 316’s embedded. “It was cool to see such an advantage in front of you, so it’s really cool. You’re looking at the queue of people he’s been beaten.
“He’s pushing, working on something new and even some of the things I’ve shown him, he held back the guys and he did it to me today. I’m just starting to laugh.
Given that he has not lost the fight for over seven years and defeated O’Malley in his first meeting, it’s no surprise that “The Machine” is highly favored to be on top in a sequel.
