Macy Barber is still looking for answers after she forced her to break out of her main event battle with Erin Blanchefield just before she walked to the UFC Vegas 107 Octagon last Saturday.
The shocking announcement prevented Barber from competing during the air, and Blanchefield later revealed that UFC officials told her that the winner of the one-off candidate series had a seizure behind the scenes before being taken to a local hospital for treatment. The truth is said, Barber doesn’t remember much of what actually happened behind the scenes. Because about 30 minutes before she was scheduled to fight, she began to feel, and the next thing she remembers is that she is being carried from the UFC peak in the ambulance.
“I hate going back and being left without answers, but I don’t fully know what happened,” Barber told ESPN. “Obviously there was a medical emergency. I’m not sure what it was or what it was, but nothing happened. I didn’t remember everything, but there was an incident that happened behind me when I was warming up and the doctors, commissioners, everyone saw it and saw the committee members.
“They didn’t think I was, so they kept asking the coaches, and again, it’s hard to remember everything that happened, so I’m not entirely sure. So they were trying to figure it out and they went on to everything and got the next thing I know.
Barber dropped out of the fight after missing weight on Friday, reaching half pounds on the scale, exceeding the flyweight limit for non-title matches. The event took place more than a year after Barber’s latest UFC came into being.
There is no word on whether past illnesses are linked to this current situation, but Barber says the UFC is helping doctors seek treatment in the hopes that they can ultimately diagnose health issues.
“I was told that my autonomic nervous system might be having problems,” Barber revealed. “They said it seemed to make me think that was what I was told, but there’s no answer. It’s just “you need to run the test and get some answers.” ”
Barber admits she is totally annoyed that she doesn’t know exactly what’s wrong, so she doesn’t want to guess whether this latest incident is related to past medical issues or the weight loss she endured before the fight.
“It felt good,” Barber said. “I remember going to the bus. I remember getting to the arena. I remember starting warm-ups and warm-ups. I was confident. This is the moment. This is when I go on a strike.
“There are some random things. I know that it was during the weight cut, but I’m saying, ‘What was part of the weight cut was from something else.” Not what I do, but I am not an expert. ”
When he comes especially in her career and timeline, which she may fight again, Barber stays with Limbo, hoping that the doctor will quickly diagnose what is going on and then grasp the series of actions.
Until then, Barber says he has to wait as he feels confident enough to get her back into the cage after the UFC needs the same answer.
“I think I’m really confused, honestly,” Barber said. “As long as my career and everything goes on, the only thing I’m going to decide to find out what it is. What’s going on, what’s going on, what’s going on, or whatever it is, health is the first thing at the end of the day.
“We need to understand before I can, ‘Yes, yeah, I’ll fight,’ or the UFC consider offering me a fight, before I can. ”
Naturally, after fighting back tears and building an impressive six-game winning streak, especially with her at the pinnacle of title contest, Barber never imagined she would find herself in this position.
Now Barber can’t compete and is waiting for the doctor to realize what went wrong.
“I’ve always given me everything I have,” Barber said. “For this to happen, I’m going to be in the first main event. I got sick at the first event, so I think it’s the second. I’ll show the world what the main event and what I can do and get a second chance to continue chasing this dream.
“It’s hard to disappoint so many people and myself. It’s hard. It’s not something that’s in my control, it wasn’t in anyone’s control. It’s not something I wanted. It’s not something I had in the store. It’s not something I was planning to do.
