McLaren has announced that Arrom MacLaren Indycar driver Patooward, who also serves as a reserve driver for the Formula 1 team, will be taking part in a free practice 1 at the Mexico City Grand Prix in October. Monterrey, a native of Mexico, marks his second consecutive year of appearances on the team in the home soil of Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
“Pato O’Word is pleased to see that he will earn valuable time behind the wheels of the MCL39 and participate in a free practice 1 at the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix,” said Team Principal Andrea Stella. “Pato provided a recognized contribution last season and continues to be impressed with the NTT IndyCar series, making him a suitable driver for a free practice 1 session. This will continue to be available as part of the second year spare driver pool, providing further knowledge of PATO and ensuring a wider pool of drivers to be called when necessary.”
“I’m excited to be back in the car for FP1 this year at my home race in Mexico,” O’Word says. “The fans of Mexico City were incredible last time. It was a great feeling to be able to extract everything from the program the team had planned. I look forward to working with Zack, Andrea and the whole team this year again.”
