McLaren Formula One Team Principal Andrea Stella admits that Landnoris’ race-end shunt at the Grand Prix in Canada could undermine his confidence.

Norris crashed from Sunday’s race in Montreal after hitting the back of McLaren’s teammate Oscar Piastri.

McLaren’s teammates were fighting hard for the track position behind Kimi Antoneri in the later stages of the race.

Norris got a better exit than Piastri from the final corner on lap 67, so Britton tried to go to the left of his teammate despite not having enough space.

Norris smacked the back of the piastry and rattled against the wall on the left, finishing the race.

There was little about it given Norris immediately apologised for his mistake.

After Sunday’s race, Stella admitted that it could affect Norris’ confidence, but outlined that she has “full support” for McLaren.

“Well, obviously, that’s an episode where he sacrificed Championship Points,” Stella said according to a quote from Motorsport Week. “It’s an episode for his own admission.

“He said the principle: ‘I just made a false judgment’, so he never said ‘Let’s talk about it.’ So it may have an impact on his confidence. But it’s up to us as a team to show full support for Rand, and I want to be completely clear about this, that’s full support for Rand. ”

If Norris doesn’t apologize, things will be different.

Stella admitted that things would be different if Norris didn’t apologize after the race.

The Italian is sure that the Canadian Grand Prix event will make him a more powerful driver.

“We have a conversation and the conversation may be even tougher,” he added.

“If Rando is not responsible and does not apologise, then things will be different.

“Rand himself has to show his character to overcome this kind of episode, and he makes sure he is just taking the learning.
