Dvalishvili (19-4 MMA, 12-2 UFC) abdicated O’Malley and became the bantamweight champion at UFC 306 this September. He then notched his first title defense by handing his first career defeat at UFC 311 to Umar Nurmagomedov.
O’Malley (18-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) knocked out Aljamain Sterling to become the bantamweight champion at UFC 292. He had hip surgery soon due to an existing injury.
