La Lakers legend Michael Cooper has made strong predictions about his previous team for the rest of the NBA playoffs.
The LA Lakers sealed a 94-85 victory in Game 2 of their first round series matchup against the Minnesota Timber Wolves.
After a disappointing Game 1 performance that saw Magic Johnson and several others criticize their performances against the team, JJ Reddick showed off his fierce coaching ability in Game 2 to bring the team a victory
With the series heading towards Minnesota, the Lakers are trying to advance momentum as strong performance on the road is essential if they want to shoot the series.
Former Lakers player Michael Cooper strongly predicted that he would appear on a recent podcast.
Cooper, a five-time Lakers champion, said he believes Purple and Gold have the tools to win it all, despite their toughest paths. And he dreams of a perfect final.
Speaking about their chances regarding the Lakers and the “CLNS NBA History and Storyteller” podcast, the legend states: “I think LeBron is about to start playing.
“I think the Lakers will shoot both games there (Minnesota).”
Cooper expressed confidence that the Lakers defeated the OKC Thunder in the Finals and how much they love the NBA Finals being a match against the Celtics.
“I believe they are trying to beat OKC or anyone who stands up there, and we want the Boston Celtics to be there.
The Lakers actually have a strong roster that can compete with any team in the NBA. However, the Lakers will have to pass Minnesota first to reach the final to match the Celtics’ 18 ring.
Clearly, Luka Donchik’s trade from the Dallas Mavericks changed their roster significantly, making this move difficult to beat them.
Nico Harrison continues to be criticised, but Donsic is proving why the Lakers are a player they can build for years with his performances.
He continues to perform incredible postseason performances through two big playoff games, but for the team to succeed, Donsic will also need to bolster his game on the defensive end.
The Timberwolves had a great shooter and the Lakers were struggling in Game 1.
They cannot keep players open and must close immediately, causing confusion for the shooter.
Another problem they faced in Game 1 is an insane number of quarantine play, which needs to continue as it is resolved in Game 2 and T-Wolves also have some great perimeter defenders.
The Lakers head to Game 3 with many positives, but Donsic said target centers are a difficult place to play. So the team must be prepared not only physically but mentally.
