The dominant display of Super Sports Race 2 on Isle of Man TT wasn’t without a “neurological” moment for Michael Dunlop.

MD Racing Ducati Rider took the lead from the start by winning over 20 seconds at Honda’s Dean Harrison, winning his second Supersport Race of the Week, completing his fourth straight sweep of the TT’s middleweight solo class.

“It wasn’t that bad,” Dunlop summed up in a post-race television interview.

“That’s going to be difficult. I knew Dean (Harrison) was coming out of the block, but I put together my actions at the start of the race.

“I was right at first, so there’s a bit less to do.”

However, Ducati was slow to fire at the pit stop on the rap 2, so Dunlop admitted to seeing Harrison escape for two seconds and feeling “nervous” when he saw him escape for four seconds to Davy Todd.

“We had a slightly nervous pit stop. She never fired again,” Dunlop said.

“But the bike was mint. Thanks to all the teams, they worked late last night and played fair and made it work. It was great.

“I want to thank the team and sponsors, which is impossible without them.

“Obviously, it’s good for Ducati to go back to the top and do a double again.”

Dunlop said he had a small front-end problem, but he wasn’t sure if it was caused by a dull condition.

“We had a bit of front-end issues,” he said. “But I knew what we were trying to try.

“But we’re just going on and we’re happy to do doubles for the Ducati team, my own team and everyone else.”
