Michael Dunlop was awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honor for his service to motorcycles.
Ballymoney Man recently added a hat-trick victory at the North West 200, following with four wins in the 2025 Man TT race, leading the record to 33 wins.
Michael follows in the footsteps of Joey’s uncle, who was awarded an MBE for service to motorcycles in 1986 and later an OBE for humanitarian work in 1996.
Joining his social media page, Dunlop said he was a “privilege beyond words” when he received his honor.
“What an honor to receive an MBE named on the King’s Birthday Honor List.
I was able to push and throw at me all high and low life for years. No matter the challenge, I’ve always given everything 100% on and off track.
Being recognized in this way is a privilege beyond words. ”

The 36-year-old is one of the greatest road racers of all time and is considered the best rider ever competed for at the Isle of Man TT. In his statement, he thanked everyone who helped him along the way.
“From the start, I pushed myself to be the best rider I could, and at the same time I have always had the pride to keep the Dunlop name at the top of the sport.
“This journey hasn’t been easy, but the results speak for itself. I’m very grateful to everyone who participated in it, including my team, sponsors, my family, friends and the fans who stood by me through it. Thank you, MD, MD.”
More history was created in 2025 by Dunlop on Man TT Island. He won Ducati’s first victory in the event in 30 years. He extended his incredible supersport class record to a total of 15 wins.
By winning the Ducati, Michael became seven manufacturers with victory around the Mountain Course.
He is looking to create more history in July with the annual Southern 100 race at the Billdown Circuit on the Isle of Man. He has now won 25 events since 2010.
