The Michael ‘Venom’ page is in sight for a clash with former UFC welterweight champion Kamal Usman or three-time title challenger Colby Covington.
Page returned to the UFC Saudi Arabia victory column in February, recording a unanimous decision victory over Shara “Bullet” Magomedov in a one-off middleweight appearance.
Ready to resume his run inside the Octagon at 170 pounds, “Venom” provided the pair’s name on his radar while in London for a UFC card at the O2 Arena this weekend.
“I have no clue (what’s next), but it seems like everyone is silent right now,” Page told UFC Fan Q&A on O2 on Friday. “I don’t know if that final fight is bothering a few people, but it seems like everyone is a bit silent. There are a lot of names out there.
“I think it’s a good fight between me and Usman. I want to punch Colby in his face for some reason. I don’t know why. There’s everyone there. I’m waiting for them to answer the call.”
“Venom” will compete in two more times this year
Usman has not competed since October 2023, when the majority decision was made against the undefeated Chechnian monster Kamzachmaev, was short. Nigeria’s Nightmare sits on a three-game winning streak, but remains strong as a candidate ranked third in the welterweight division, earning a major target to win the top five.
Meanwhile, Covington was a little more active, competing in 2023 and December 2024. Although once considered one of the top stars in the promotion, “Chaos” saw his stock drop significantly on the third and final opportunity for Leon Edwards to win welterweight gold.
The Covina, California native returned to the Octagon late last year for the night headlining of a fight with Joaquin Buckley. Covington ultimately lost the fight after the doctor stopped scrapping in round three as he cut Covington’s right eye particularly badly. He has not yet booked a return to the Octagon in 2025.
Obviously, no one will bring fighters like Usman or Covington back into their cages, but no matter who opposes, “Venom” wants to take part in at least two fights by the end of the year.
“If we can get two more fights (this year), that’s great,” Page said. “I’m trying to get it as soon as possible, and there’s a show in May where I want to go again at the end of the year.
