Leeds can start thinking about life in the Premier League after securing promotion from the championship on Monday, and there will be a big focus on preparing Daniel Fark’s team for a big step up.
Clubs coming from the Championship find it very difficult to compete in the Premier League in recent seasons, so Leeds hopes they can succeed where Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich have failed. But to do this, they need to be heavily strengthened.
And, according to one former player, Leeds would be wise to sign a new offensive midfielder to replace current starter Brendan Aaronson.
Mike Grera believes Brendan Arsonson is not PL quality
After Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League was confirmed, Mike Grera spoke about Aaronson about CBS Sports (via Leedsunited.news).
“For me, I think they have a lot of depth in their behind-the-scenes position, so they have Solomon, Ramazani, Gnonto, Aaronson, Daniel James.
“If you’re trying to play like that, you might have a different skill set for the No. 10 position you play behind Piroe, perhaps a proper No. 10 that creates a numerical advantage that he can add a little more to goalscoring.
It is still unclear whether Leeds will receive Grera’s advice. They linked Eduard Speltian in the beginning of 2025, and he could be the man to take over from Aaronson from next season.
