Mike Malott accused Kevin Holland of window dressing.
Marotte scored a huge unanimous decision victory over Holland at UFC Vancouver last weekend, snapping his third straight win inside the Octagon and improving his record under the UFC banner to 6-1. However, the win had a hint of controversy as the Canadian twice hit his opponent below the belt in the opening round.
The first incident occurred due to a missed front kick that grazed the Dutch cup. The match resumed just a few seconds later, but things were halted 30 seconds later when Malott delivered a knee kick that appeared to catch Holland on a peninsula south of the equator.
Holland was ultimately able to continue fighting, but not before writhing in pain on the Octagon mat.
Marotto, who discussed the incident during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, claimed he only “polished” Holland’s cup and accused Holland of milking him for a second low blow.
“I told the referee that my knee hit his hip. I think it was my shin that grazed his groin. It felt like my shin grazed the cup, but the impact didn’t hit the cup. My knee hit his belt line. I didn’t mean it. It was a little lower than it was. Look back, I just hit the belt line. I didn’t knee him. My knee might have hit it when I landed. That might not have felt good.”
“I got hit hard in the groin in practice, but it was a lot harder than that, and I overcame it and had a full sparring session. I think it was just a little excuse like there was some decoration on the groin shot to get a score and then the match went away.”
Holland then gave an update on his condition, revealing that he was still suffering from the effects of the low blow two days later.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, you kicked STDs into my pussy and it hurts (my nuts),” Holland wrote after the game.
“I never thought my mom would take me for an ultrasound because (my head) is still throbbing,” Holland added in Monday’s post.
