Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is sure that Victor Gyoker’s goals ahead will start flowing soon.
At over £10 million per season, Swedish striker Gyoker drew a gap in his final five matches once again frustrated in his 2-0 Champions League victory over the Olympiacos in the 2-0 Champions League on Wednesday.
But it was biased towards the post with the 27-year-old shot so Gabriel Martinelli could win an opener for Arsenal, but he was also denied by a final ditch defense.
“What I feel is that he’s doing better and better with each game,” Arteta said.
“He was rejected several times on the block and then he hit the post, but I think his overall performance was exceptional.
“Again, he’s done really well. Yeah, we want him to score goals, but if he doesn’t, he’s helping the team a lot, at least as he does for the team, so we hope to do it all.”
The Gunners are facing struggles with West Ham at home in the Premier League on Saturday.
“I don’t know, but hopefully, yes and hopefully it’s Saturday,” Arteta added.
Bukayosaka left the bench and concluded another satisfying night of work in Europe for Arsenal.
Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi played 90 minutes in his first taste of the Champions League at Emirates Stadium.
“I’m really happy,” he told the club’s website:
“It was really tough, we started off really well, but in the end they pushed a lot towards the second half.
“We want to keep our momentum and win as many games as possible. We’ll recover well and prepare for our next game against West Ham.”
