According to Gazzetta dello SportAC Milan are actively exploring options to strengthen their attack in the January transfer window, driven by Santiago Jimenez’s continued struggles in front of goal.
Despite Allegri’s public support, Jimenez has failed to score in Serie A this season, prompting club leaders to consider a replacement. One possibility is to revisit the swap deal with Roma for Artem Dovvik, which was previously discussed but stalled over rental terms. Dovvik is also enduring a crowded campaign but could benefit from a fresh start, making the deal attractive to both parties.
In addition, Milan’s list of candidates also includes Joshua Zirkzee, who is currently at Manchester United, but negotiations have failed in the past. If there is a possibility that the loan will be disbursed, interest rates could rise again.
The Rossoneri are also keeping an eye on 23-year-old Argentine striker Joaquín Panichelli, who has scored nine goals in all competitions for Strasbourg, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jonathan Burkhardt, who has been prolific since the start of the season and is worth around €30 million.
