Damien Lillard suffered a major Achilles injury in four NBA playoff games as the Milwaukee Bucks ran 3-1 for the Indiana Pacers.
Damien Lillard’s injury update
The Star Point Guard was forced to withdraw from Game 4 of the first round playoff meeting with the Indiana Pacers as the Bucks lost 129-103 to the Pacers.
Early reports show that the 34-year-old was injured by Achilles during the 15-minute opening.
Lillard felt a visible discomfort and needed help to be guided backwards. It was confirmed that he would not return to the match.
He only played six minutes, finishing the game with two rebounds and two assists, leaving the Bucks weaker.
How many mistakes will Damian Lillard make?
NBA-wide reports believe the Bucks star is torn over his left Achilles and will miss the rest of the 2025 playoffs.
Worse still, the nine-time NBA All-Star could also miss out on most of the 2025-26 season due to the importance of Achilles’ tears.
So far, it has been a difficult year for Lillard. He missed the final 14 games of the regular NBA season and the playoff opener after suffering from deep venous thrombosis.
Lillard now takes a fresh blow as he was cleared to compete for the Bucks after he finally took off the blood-thinning medication.
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers spoke about Lillard’s difficult 2025, revealing the harshness of the situation and was full of sympathy for his star point guard.
Doc Rivers said: “The guy tried to come back for his team. I felt bad for him. This is tough. This follows a blood clot and it’s just hard.
“He’s a very great guy on the basketball level, but more importantly, as a teammate, as a father and as something like that.
