The Milwaukee Bucks will welcome important enhancements.
As the strong finishing goals of the season continue, the Milwaukee Bucks are anticipating a comeback for Bobby Portis.
Portis was suspended in 25 games, especially after violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy.
The Bucks’ April 6th duel against the New Orleans Pelican ultimately ended the franchise wait time.
After a long inactivity, it is estimated that Portis will eventually return to his court on April 8th against the Minnesota Timberwolves. And this is most welcome for Milwaukee, as Damian Lillard is on the sidelines for a thrombotic diagnosis.
Kevin Porter Jr. is happy everyone in the Bucks when it comes to the looming arrival of Portis back on the court.
When Portis was suspended, it was the Bucks’ precious midseason acquisition that took the urgent responsibility of claiming a second unit on the team.
As Portis is about to return to the Bucks since the All-Star break, Porter Jr. is excited and leaning towards a special pairing that he can create as a Milwaukee bench leader.
“I’m in the (Portis) League. I’ve known him for a while now, so I know his game, and he knows my game,” Porter Jr. said following a solid 20-point output to support the Bucks’ final road victory over the Pelicans.
“I think it’s easy. We get off the bench and have punches like those two.
“He’s great, he’s a high IQ guy, he’s very vocal, he’s a leader, and that’s going to go a long way.”
Portis averaged 13.7 points in 25.2 minutes in 46 games (7 starts) in 25.2 minutes. He also tallies 8.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists (3-36.4%), shooting 46.3% from the field.
The Bucks managed to hold on despite Portis’ absence, making it 15-10 in the previous 25 games when the Big Man came out.
Nevertheless, the fact that Portis remains an integral cog in the Bucks identity should not be dismissed. Sweet shooting always injects a significant boost to energy, fuss and tenacity as the main backup for both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez teams.
With four games remaining before the regular season ends, the Bucks will soon reintegrate Portis and soon reintegrate Portis in preparation for the upcoming title hunt in the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
