The Minnesota Timberwolves have a young and talented roster shaped for next season.
Losing guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker was not ideal for the Minnesota Timber Wolves, but the team brought Julius Randle and Nazreed back to free agency.
After losing to the OKC Thunder in the Western Conference final, it was clear that the TO-Olves needed to do something on their roster.
They tried to take part in Kevin Durant’s sweepstakes, but he eventually decided to move to the Houston Rocket.
This caused disappointment among fans, but the NBA Summer League took away some of it as the Timberwolves Summer League campaign showed off the talent of the young players on the roster.
The team’s GM spoke about one of the players on the roster that impressed him the most during the ESPN broadcast.
Terrence Shannon Jr. informed himself with the limited minutes he received for T-Wolves last season.
As a rookie, he averaged only 10.6 minutes and scored 4.3 points at 48.2% off the field.
He had some great performances, including a 25-point performance against the LA Lakers in the regular season.
Shannon Jr. appeared for the T-Wolf in the Summer League with two 20-point performances.
His exploitation in the summer league led T-Wolf GM to praise him.
General Manager Matt Lloyd said:
“We’ve had some changes to the backcourt team. Nickaire went to Atlanta. We’re very happy for him. He’s been a big part of our team for the past two and a half seasons.
“I actually see TJ and see how hard he worked and how he never wavered from the job and trying to contribute in a positive way.
“He’s a balanced basketball player and will be an elite two-way player at the pinnacle of his development. We’re really excited about TJ.”
Shannon Jr. and Rob Dillingham are two players with a lot of hope for in their sophomore year.
Dillingham also has a large number in the summer league, but also plays a leadership role on the roster.
He has earned a lot of praise from his experts and his teammates despite his limited roles in his rookie season.
However, with Alexander Walker gone, both Dillingham and Shannon Jr. are key to the Timberwolves’ rotation.
Both are talented players with two-way abilities and play a major role when the Timberwolve competes for the championship.
