All the Delhi Capitals are set to face a major blow for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, according to reports in Australian media. This shows that it is unlikely that fast bowler Mitchell Stark will return to India for the league that will resume this week.
India’s Premier League (IPL) 2025 was suspended for a week after tensions between India and Pakistan began to burn. This promptly made the BCCI take action and the league was postponed after 58 games were played to the maxim.
IPL 2025 may resume on May 17th or 18th
However, as India and Pakistan are currently calling a ceasefire, the Indian Cricket Management Committee (BCCI) is planning to reopen the league. Several reports show that IPL 2025 will resume on May 17 or 18th, with the finals likely to take place on May 30th.

There is no official confirmation, but we can see that backend BCCI has told all franchises to call back foreign players by Tuesday. In particular, after a match between the Punjab Kings and the Delhi Capitals, the overseas players went home after being cancelled during the first innings.
As the league is now set to resume all of its leagues, some sections of the report suggest that foreign players may not return. One player who is expected to not come is Delhi Capitals Pacer Mitchell Stark, who played a key role in the team in the 12 games the franchise has played.
Mitchell Stark’s manager suggests that the pacer may not return to the IPL due to the conflict
An Australian media report alleged that Mitchell Stark landed in Sydney on Sunday and refused to speak to the media. However, his manager in a conversation with 9News determined that Pacer may not return to the IPL due to the conflict.
Not only this, Australian media reported that some of the Australian stars have joined Mitchell Stark and will not return to the league. This is because it’s tough for them to have and the fact that the ICC World Test Championship Final is rounding the corner.
Mitchell Stark chose 14 wickets in 12 games he played for the Delhi Capitals.
Purchased at IPL 2025 Mega Auction for Rs 11.75, Mitchell Starc saw the ball with a decent touch. The left-handed Pacer has played all 12 games this season, dismissing 14 batters. He also chose Fifer and became the first pacer to choose to carry five wickets in Delhi.
The Delhi Capitals are plagued by the league. They are fifth in the points table with six wins and four losses in 12 games. That’s a surprise as they dominated the first half of the league. To qualify, the Axar Patel-led side will need to win both games as they will score 18 points for both games.
