The New York Yankees need help with pitching and signed a minor league contract with 37-year-old right-handed Kenta Maeda on Monday. The veteran has been with MLB for the past nine seasons and came out of the bullpen in 2025 alongside the Detroit Tigers.
In other Yankees news, the team is reclaiming outfielder Judge Aaron as it is the first day he qualifies, as the team will be activated 10 days before Tuesday’s game.
Other MLB news reported that the Los Angeles made the move Monday, claiming that St. Louis Cardinals’ base move Lekenbaker has turned off the exemption. In the corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Jack Little was designated for assignment.
Finally, the Atlanta Braves unfortunately put All-Star Austin Riley on the injured list. The third baseman on slugging returns to his second IL in one month due to abdominal tension.
