After the former UFC champion was sentenced to five years in prison, many past and present MMA stars gave Cain Verasquez support on social media.

On Monday, Velazquez was sentenced for his involvement in the February 2022 shooting. This is the man who a former MMA fighter fires several rounds from a handgun with a vehicle carrying Harry Goalt, accusing Velazquez of a 4-year-old son of his mother of business, the son of Patricia Gaulte, the man who accused Velazquez of firing several rounds of his handgun with a vehicle carrying Harry Goalt.

Velazquez was eventually sentenced to five years in prison and served time for a string of charges, including attempted murder. The prosecutors had sought a life sentence of 25 years.

Luckily, Velázquez’s five-year prison sentence includes credits for the time provided. Not only in 2022 he spent the eight months behind the bar, but also in time he has been under house arrest ever since. That is, Velazquez earns credits for three years, and he only has two years left to serve. With good behavior, there is a strong possibility that he could become a free man in 2026.

Still, many of Velázquez’s friends, family and supporters think it’s just too long.
