Earlier this week, Everton confirmed that midfielder Abdorey Ducole would leave the club at the end of the campaign at the expiration of his current contract.
The 32-year-old joined Toffey on a £20 million contract from Watford in the summer of 2020, and has appeared as a key player on his first team at Goodison Park in recent years.
Marian scored 21 goals and 15 assists in 167 appearances for the club, and was replaced by Carlos Alcaraz in his final appearance at Merseyside last weekend.
He already has strong interest from multiple Middle Eastern teams along with Rome and Leeds United, resulting in a hole in the middle of David Moet.
Given his pending departure, it’s no surprise to anyone to see hierarchical as he replaces him dig into the transfer market.
The latest in Everton’s pursuit to sign Angel Gomez
Recently, it has been revealed that Everton will be in the race to land British midfielder Angel Gomez this summer after he had previously been interested in his signature.
The 24-year-old has been successful throughout 2024/25, making his England debut, registering a total of 20 appearances in all league 1 side reel tournaments.
However, at the end of the season when his deal expired, he was confirmed to leave the French side with a free transfer at the end of the season when he spurred interest from the Moet men.
It is unclear where the former Manchester United Academy alum would like to move this summer, but considering the move to the new stadium, it can prove an exciting proposal for the midfielder.
However, the club was able to see past the Gomez deal this summer, and then later, they were able to pass more minutes to one player in the Merseyside book.
Everton’s star could be a dream docoe alternative
Creativity and goals once again became concern for Everton in 2024/25, scoring just 41 times the points on 37 outings.
Illiman Ndiaye sits as the top scorer with nine league goals.
Doucure has also left, so he has taken another option in the final third of Moyes and needs to address such issues before the 2025/26 campaign.
The transfer market is one option, but the Scots chose to put their faith in the talent of young people and served in a senior role for 18-year-old academy alumnus Harrison Armstrong.
The teenager spent the second half of the season lending out in the championship side of Derby County, impressed what the taste of his career’s senior football was.
He made 15 appearances for the Rams and scored a single goal – his incredible strike against Plymouth Argyle proved to be important in the hunt for survival.
His underlying stats at Pride Park during a temporary stint in the East Midlands were equally impressive, potentially hitting him on the first ranked campaign.
Armstrong registered a 60% dribbling success rate for the Rams, completing 2.1 balls per 90. It then perfectly fitted into the current direct approach at Merseyside.
He also scored 72% of the tackles he entered and came to the top with a duel of 4.7 per 90, highlighting his Workman-like style of play, which could make him a hit with supporters and monsters.

Young people can follow in the same footsteps as Doucure and offer more advanced options with the Moyes team despite being a proactive player.
His performance in the second tier in the UK would have done enough potential to encourage Goodison’s behind-the-scenes staff and catapult him into the manager’s plan.
Given his age, Armstrong needs time to develop and get used to in the Premier League, but that only helps him develop at the club – he can become the newest big star coming out of the academy.
