There is reportedly a noise that Chelsea will once again be making a loan from Manchester United to sign in the form of Alejandro Garnacho.
Argentina International finished 2024/25 with a record of 11 goals and nine assists in all competitions, playing in a variety of offensive roles.
Garnacho looks like he’s in the left-wing home, but he can also play in the center, making sense for Chelsea as an ideal upgrade for struggling performers like Joan Felix and Micairo Mudrick.
Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho has just seen his loan spell at Stamford Bridge approaching the end, and according to Simon Phillips, it appears that Chelsea can take someone from Man Utd again.
The story from Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea appears to be growing
Phillips claims that Chelsea has several targets for the position, including Jamie Gitens and Malick Fofana, but Garnacho’s name is getting closer and closer.
“Chelsea are also looking at a new offensive midfielder who can play in the heart and wide area. There is a belief that the couple’s wingers can still arrive,” Phillips wrote in his report on the subsack.
“The Gitens is in the works. I’m interested in Marick Fofana in Lyon and the noise from Alejandro Garnacho will not go away.
“To date, our sources have not heard much about Garnacho, other than tentative interests. But throughout the week we have been hearing this noise more and more and more, and we’ve also heard fresh information on him.
“We have heard that SPTC sources are discussing Chelsea, like Jadon Sancho, about signing Garnacho on a loan to buy the contract, and of course, both players are from Manchester United.
“There’s nothing to suggest what this will definitely happen, but that’s what was discussed internally at Chelsea if they decided to go to Garnacho.”
Alejandro Garnacho appears to be a risky signature for Chelsea
Garnacho may be a bright outlook that shows a lot of possibilities given him only 20 years old.
However, we cannot escape the fact that he is very inconsistent with United’s performance. Also, moving to another big six club in the UK is probably not something he needs right now.
Garnacho probably still has a great career ahead of him, but he’s not the kind of person who seems likely to run quickly for a team like Chelsea and hit the ground.
Bruce needs to move forward with the project, and this other inexperienced, inconsistent player now seems all wrong to them.
