Aston Villa have reportedly set an offer of £80 million to sign Morgan Rodgers with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
The England international has recently starred for Villa and is quickly becoming one of the hottest talents in Europe.
Rodgers reached double figures in goals and assists last season, winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award in the process.
It’s easy to imagine Rodgers moving to a bigger club soon, with Ficajes linking him with Liverpool, Chelsea and PSG.
However, they report that Villa have no intention of letting the 23-year-old go cheaply, with the asking price set at £80m.
Morgan Rogers transfer situation explained
As previously reported, Chelsea are looking to sign another attacking midfielder, with Rodgers being their top transfer target, but other names are also being eyed.
Quite a few other clubs are also expected to be involved, as Rodgers could fit in with a number of first teams.
A team such as Arsenal could be involved in the race for Rodgers, although ties have so far faded somewhat.
Villa would certainly not want to lose such an important player, but we know their financial situation is not the best, so it could mean they risk having to sign Rodgers if enough offers come in.
We saw Villa sell Douglas Luiz last summer, John Duran in January and Jacob Ramsey this year, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see a big name like Rodgers move on next.
It will be interesting to see what the player decides for himself, but he will have many attractive options.
