The word wars of the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets series are on the rise.
Even before the NBA Playoff Series began, the matchup between the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors looked like a potential powder keg.
It was only a matter of time before the series heated up, as Draymond Green already had history with Stephen Adams and Dillon Brooks is well known for his combative approach.
It is possible that Hughes was lit after being injured by Jimmy Butler in Game 2. Draymond Green and Fred Vanvriet collided at the end of the match, with the series tied 1-1.
And there’s tension on both sides as Amen Thompson gets caught up in a play that leads to Jimmy Butler’s injury.
Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks was moved to defender teammate Amen Thompson and spoke to the media as the build-up began before the enthusiastically anticipated Game 3.
Brooks quickly flipped the question when he was quoted via ESPN when asked if Amen Thompson had “dirty play.”
Thompson said: “No, I think the dirty guy is Draymond (green), and he pushes him a bit like a regular basketball player, and Jimmy is fighting in the air for a rebound.
“Amen is not a dirty player. He has nothing to do with being a dirty player.”
The Warriors simply left the Jimmy Butler case to playing basketball.
However, apparently there was no love lost between Green and Brooks, urging Moses Moody to stand up for his veteran teammates.
Ohm Youngmisk reports that Moody is amusing Brooks’ comments, saying, “It’s a bit ironic, isn’t it?”
Brooks has his own reputation, and Nick Wright brands him as a “dangerous player” before the series.
Jimmy Butler underwent an MRI scan after a fall to avoid serious injuries, but he is still being hit hard.
Former NBA star Paul Pierce has expressed concern, but Steve Kerr has yet to dominate Butler in Game 3.
Pierce claims that even if Butler returns, he will be hurt and not completely healthy, which could interfere with his game and the warrior.
But with the needle expanding between the two teams, competitors like Butler don’t want to be on the sidelines, especially when it all starts.
