The motorcycle racing community is in mourning after teenage sensation Poalsina was killed in a training accident at Motorland Aragon.
The 17-year-old was preparing for the next round of the FIM Junior GP series on Saturday when he suffered a violent crash and was thrown from his bike.
According to a Spanish report, he was rushed to a hospital in nearby Zaragoza city where he underwent emergency surgery. However, despite the doctors’ best efforts, Arshina succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on Monday.
News of his death was confirmed in a social media post by Salvador Ira Roca, president of the Catalan government.
“I mourn the death of young rider Poe Arcina, one of our motorcycle’s great promises in a tragic accident,” writes Roca. “A deep condolences and warmth to his family, friends and teammates.”
According to Spanish media, arrangements have been made to move his body to his home in the Catalonian region.
Alcina is considered one of Spain’s most promising young riders and graduated from the Junior GP Series in 2025 with the Estrella Galicia team.
He went 13th in the rider’s standings after the opening of the four rounds after the best finish in Geres’ doubleheader.
Alsina stepped up to the FIM certified series after a strong campaign with the Artbox team last year at the European Talent Cup.
He reportedly mapped the long-term path to MotoGP, aiming to reach Premier Class within five years.
Arcina was known to have been interested in racing at a young age and to admire MotoGP champions six-time Mark Marquez, as well as Catalan riders Pol and Aleix Espargaro.
