Arsenal is reportedly in discussions this afternoon to seal the relocation of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesco, according to a new update from Fabrizio Romano.
The gunner has long been linked to Sesco, and Romano reports on the tracking in an exclusive report Catch off side Early today.
Since then, things seem to be moving fast, with more updates being made, with Romano posting to X in Arsenal news that fans have been waiting for.
As Slovenia International’s move to Emirates Stadium appears to be on the rise, please see below for the latest details on the Arsenal saga from Sesco…
Even if we emphasize that Romano has not done anything yet, this certainly portends Arsenal in Sesco’s pursuit.
Known for being one of the industry’s most trusted transfer news journalists, Romano is not likely to report on these updates unless he’s 100% certain, so this could be really moving in the right direction.
Is Arsenal signing the right striker at Sesco?
I’ll talk Catch off side Today, Romano also expressed his interest in sports Lisbon striker Victor Gyoker.
Some AFC fans may prefer Gyoker over Sesko because of this excellent score record, but it is also a potentially dangerous deal.
Not only is Gyoker four years older than Sesko, he has never played in one of the Big Five Leagues in Europe.
What Romano told us to Arsenal about Sesco
It reminds us of what Romano said to us about the Sesco Arsenal deal early today:
“Sesko remains very high on Arsenal’s nominee list. He is the player they want and we got in touch with Red Bull Leipzig 10 days ago,” he said.
“Another player that Arsenal sees is Viktor Gyokeres. He’s a different kind of player with different skills and different prices.
“This is why Arsenal takes time before closing its deal, but for Sesco, contacts are definitely starting and trading continues.”
He added: “Arsenal also wanted Sesco a year ago, but we couldn’t proceed in that case. That’s the same story from January.
“Now Arsenal is working on Sesco, let’s follow the situation and gyoker remains an option on their list.
“Please don’t forget that Arsenal also wants to add a key winger to Mikel Arteta’s team this summer.”
