Mumbai Indians (MI) disagrees Chennai Super Kings (CSK) The third game of IPL 2025. The CSK vs MI match is scheduled to take place on Sunday (March 23rd) at Ma Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Things haven’t been going well for Mumbai Indians in recent seasons, and last year was no exception. Before the season began, they decided to plunder Rohit Sharma as captain and replaced him with Hardik Pandya.
However, the move didn’t pay off as the Mumbai Indians finished at the bottom of the point table. It was the third time MI hadn’t qualified for the playoffs in four seasons. Things are likely to be more calm for MI this season under the Pandya Captain and they want to do well.
As the Mumbai Indians prepare for their first match of the season, we’ll see the Mumbai Indians playing 11 in their upcoming matches against CSK.
11 vs CSK-IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians playing Match 3:
Opener: Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton (WK)
Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton are set to be openers for the Mumbai Indians who will play 11 this season. Rohit began the innings with Ishan Kishan last season, the latter being signed up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025.
In IPL 2024, Rohit scored 417 runs in 14 games, including 1 century and 50. He’s responsible for getting a good start from the bat to Mi. Meanwhile, Ryan Rickelton will make his debut in the IPL this season.
Intermediate batters and all-rounders: Tilak Balma, Suryakumal Yadav (C), Naman Dier, Corbin Bosch, Mitchell Santner
With Hardik Pandya suspended in a match against CSK, Michigan has appointed Suryakumal Yadav as captain of the upcoming game. Yadav has been leading India in the T20IS since last year and is looking to lead MI head-on. Last year he scored 347 runs in 11 games for MI.
Mumbai Indians also rely heavily on Tilak Balma. Young people have consistently delivered for the franchise and are looking to make an impact this year as well. In 38 IPL games so far, he has scored 1,156 runs, including the 60s. Varma not only acts as an anchor, but also allows you to play big shots freely.
Naman Dhir, Corbin Bosch and Mitchell Santner are expected to be Mi’s other options to play 11 in upcoming games. DHIR was one of the very few positives that MI had disappointed last season. He played seven games last season and scored 140 runs with almost 180 strike ratings.
Meanwhile, Bosch is planning to play in the IPL for the first time. He was not originally part of the MI team, but recently replaced his fellow countryman Lizaad Williams with the team. Allrounder’s Bosch has scored over 600 runs and 59 wickets so far in 86 T20.
Suntner will become another all-rounder at MI.
Bowlers: Khan Sharma, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Mjebu Uru Rahman
With Chennai’s conditions expected to be spin-friendly, MI can name two front-line spinners in the lineup, with Mitchell Santner as the other option. Karn Sharma and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are set to be MI’s frontline spinners playing 11 in matches against CSK.
Mujeeb was signed by MI as an alternative to his fellow countryman Allah Ghazanfar. He has the ability to bowl at every stage of the game, including power play, and MI tries to take advantage of it. Meanwhile, Khan has ample experience playing in the IPL and is keen to influence MI.
Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult are set up to be the two-person pacer in MI. After playing for CSK in the past, Chahar is well aware of Chennai’s conditions and aims to make an immediate impact. Boult wants to run and hit the ground when he returns to the MI side.
